Double page spread evaluation Kerrang
Evaluation Double Page spread Q
Evaluations of double page spreads
This Double page spread is very attractive to the reader, The large L draws you in as well as the image, i think the image being in black and white shows the magazine off more than the artist as Lady Gaga is anything but plain. The magazine defiantly tones her down. The large L is there as that's the first letter of her name. This draws the reader in to find out who it is whom they are reading about.
the double page spread has a the magazine logo in the bottom as well as the date and a page number.
The language used is very formal, as they're not talking to gaga during the interview, they're talking about gaga in a recent interview and including a few quotes but not as much as face to face interview.
The Picture takes up more of the page than the writing does, and At the start of a new topic they capitalize, bolden and over size their first letter.

Evaluation of my school magazine
My Evaluation of Preliminary Task
![]() |
| Front Cover |
Overall i think the outcome of my school magazine front cover, is alright. It could do with more advertisements on the front, to show whats inside the issue. I think my title's a bit plain, and the background for the title, is too large, as it looks a bit bare. But as for as first attempt at making a magazine, i think it's not too bad.

| Contents page |
I like my contents page, because i think the pictures used are fun, enthusiastic shots, which when people turn the page into the contents, they will see the pictures and be encouraged to look through the rest of the magazine, I have included things like 'secrets about your favorite teachers' which will engage any student in to reading the magazine.By using the shot where Bradley is looking at the camera, with a camera, engages the reader as its almost like he's taking a picture of you. As a weakness i think there's too much empty space on the contents, and i could use more pictures, with different models.
I think since, i am coming back to evaluate these, i have a better understanding as to what i'm supposed to have on/ in the magazine, so i'm criticizing my self quite badly.

School Magazine Contents layout/ Planning
Contents Layout School Magazine

I think by placing the title, at the top of the page, allows the reader to notice what page it is that they are looking at, and then i have the page numbers underneath that will specify what is on each page of the magazine. I have a Huge box for the background image, this will attract the reader to the page. I have been thinking about splitting the box into two separate boxes though for two separate images, because i think it will look better.
Contents Page Evaluation
Contents page
The contents page is based on a plain background, but with
the colourful image combined it makes the page look a lot brighter. The page
uses a colourful clip art image to show the fun, arty, creative side to the
magazine, and also makes the magazine original.
With the title so bold and black, the text is dominating the
page, and you get drawn into the title which draws you into the page. The sub
headings are bright which correspond with the colourful clipart image above the
title of the tape. Then underneath the sub titles there is basic information
about the pages within the magazine and this is why they designer has used basic
writing.
The designer has used things like ‘snack attack’ as a
subtitle, which is very informal but makes the page sound more fun, which will
attract readers to it.

The page contains small advertisements and logo’s for
example ‘keep your eyes peeled for issue 2 of FUSION hitting the shelves in
November’ this inspires the reader to keep reading as there’s more magazines
coming soon. With the recycling sign it just shows the readers that the
magazine makers expect you to recycle, and care about the environment.

This Magazine has a picture of a person, due to its size it
becomes the main focus. This represents what is in the magazine (in this case
students). The big bold title, with name of magazine attracts the attention of
readers, alongside the picture. The way it does this is because it’s a white
title sitting on a dark red back ground. It has subtitles telling the reader
what this issue includes within the magazine. The front also includes the issue
number (one) in the top right corner of the front page.
I will include certain aspects of this magazine within my
school magazine, as I like the dark colours clashing with the white; I think it
makes the document stand out.
Within my front page I will include a main image, of a
student; surrounding the student I will place basic information telling the
reader what is in the magazine. This magazine is out of the ordinary, as it doesn’t follow
the layout of an ordinary school magazine. Although it does have the main
image, it isn’t showing it to be anything to do with a student, as it just
looks like a person screaming/shouting.
